The success of SetMe depends, to a large extent, on the fact that our customers can trust us with the security and protection of their data. In accordance with the statutory provisions, we take effective technical and organizational measures to ensure a level of protection in the processing of personal data. Furthermore, the protection of your personal data is taken into account through technical design and data protection-friendly standardized settings in the development or selection of hardware, software, and processes. Techinline takes protection of your personal data very seriously and strictly adheres to the rules laid out by global data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679, which is a European regulation on data protection and privacy (GDPR).
2. CONTROLLERS AND PROCESSORS
The legal entities or natural persons responsible for collecting personal data when registering or using the SetMe software ("Controller") is:
241 Robert Hicks Dr
Phone: +1 617-934-2771
The Processor of personal data may be:
- Techinline Ltd.
- Authorized third parties such as:
- Payment Partners (e-commerce billing systems responsible for processing SetMe orders on our behalf);
- External contractual service providers whose services we use in connection with the specific functions of our business process, e.g. Google Analytics, Capterra, G2.
3. DATA SECURITY AND STORAGE
We've implemented strict technical measures to ensure data security, primarily to protect your personal data from threats when transmitting data as well as from unauthorized third-party access. These measures are constantly monitored and adjusted according to the latest technologies.
SetMe's servers are hosted by professional, industry-proven data centers with modern facilities and equipment such as redundant or backup power supplies, redundant data communication connections, environmental controls (e.g. air conditioning, fire suppression) and security devices.
All remote desktop sessions are encrypted using symmetrical AES 256-bit keys. A secure SSL end-to-end tunnel is established between a local and a remote computer. This means that even the SetMe servers cannot decrypt the content of the sessions, but only transfer packets from one side to another. This means that we do not collect any personal data transmitted during remote desktop sessions.
We collect, store, and process metadata of the remote desktop connections. This is needed for the legitimate purpose of enabling access to the SetMe software and services explicitly requested by you. The list of metadata stored on SetMe's servers may include the following personal data collected from your device as well as the device to which you are connecting.
From your device / pertaining to you, we may collect the following:
- Login email address
- IP address
- MAC address
From the device you are connecting / pertaining to the person you are supporting, we may collect the following:
Techinline processes the personal data of the people you are supporting upon your request and according to your instructions, thus Techinline assumes the role of data processor.
We do not store any content of the respective remote data connection (session data) beyond the required scope of data transfer. The customer can create a video recording, which is then only stored locally on the customer's computer. SetMe does not access such connection data.
4. DATA RETENTION
We will retain your personal data for as long as you maintain an account or as otherwise necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations. We will also retain your personal data as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
5. COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA FOR INFORMATION USE (WEBSITE VISITORS)
When you visit the website for informational purposes (i.e. if you do not log into the SetMe service, register a SetMe account, or otherwise provide us with information), we do not collect any personal data, except for the data transmitted by your browser that enables you to access the website. This includes:
- IP address
- Date and time of the request
- Time zone

7. INFORMATION COLLECTED FROM PAYING CUSTOMERS AND BUSINESS PARTNERS
Techinline has partnered with 3rd party e-commerce payment processing systems, Paddle and Bright Market LLC, to handle its billing matters. If you buy the SetMe software through our websites, depending on the selected payment method our billing partner will collect and store your contact data (name, address, and email address), as well as the payment method you have chosen in order to be able to fulfill its obligations under the resulting business relationship. If you provide them, Techinline and our billing partner will also store your company name, phone number, as well as the selected country. This data will be deleted after fulfillment of the contract and the tax and commercial storage periods.
Insofar as we are in a contractual, quasi-contractual or pre-contractual business relationship with you, i.e. if you are already a paying customer, business partner or are interested in such a legal relationship ("contractual partner"), we process the following data as necessary:
- Personal data (e.g. names, addresses, company)

- to answer your questions,
- to establish and fulfill our contractual obligations,
- to protect our rights,
- to protect against unauthorized use and misuse of our offers,
- for related administrative tasks, and
- for the purposes of business organization.
Your data is processed, in particular, to allow you to select, acquire or order the selected software (licenses to use our software and any associated services), as well as to enable payment and processing. During the registration process required to acquire a license, we will create an account for you on in our systems ("customer account" or "user account"). During registration, we will point out which of the above-mentioned details are required for this purpose, in particular to verify registration or the respective use of our login functions and the use of the user account, and to prevent any possible misuse of the customer account. The customer account (portal.set.me) gives you access to your connection data, the contract/license information, information about the SetMe users that are linked to the license, your master data as a customer, invoices, and any settings for payment methods. SetMe user accounts are not public and cannot be indexed by search engines. We may use email or in-app messaging to inform users about processes relevant to their user account (such as technical changes) or to invite them to participate in surveys.
The legal basis for the processing is therefore:
- For contract performance and pre-contractual inquiries - Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR
- With regard to legal obligation - Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR
- Otherwise, with regard to our legitimate interests - Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR

12. THE USE OF GOOGLE ADWORDS
SetMe's website (setme.net) uses Google Conversion Tracking. The cookie for conversion tracking is placed when a user clicks on an ad delivered by Google. These cookies expire within 30 days. If the user visits certain pages on our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google will be able to recognize that the user has clicked on the ad and proceeded to that page. Every Google AdWords customer gets a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be tracked across sites by AdWords customers. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted in for conversion tracking. Customers are given an overall number of users who have clicked on their ad and proceeded to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they will not receive any information that can personally identify users.
If you do not want to participate in the tracking, you can take the necessary steps to block a cookie – such as through a browser setting, which generally disables cookies from being stored, or adjust your browser settings in such a way that cookies from the domain "googleleadservices.com" are blocked.
13. THE USE OF GOOGLE REMARKETING
SetMe's website (setme.net) uses the remarketing feature from Google Inc. This feature is used to present website visitors interest-based advertising within the Google ad network. A "cookie" is stored in the browser of a visitor to the website that enables the visitor to be recognized again later when visiting these websites, which are a part of the advertising network from Google. On these pages, the visitor can be presented with advertisements that relate to content that the visitor has previously called up on websites that use the remarketing feature from Google.
According to its own policy, Google does not collect any personal data with this process. Nevertheless, if you do not want to see from Google, you can disable it by changing the appropriate settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads.

Besides disabling third party cookies, it is beyond the control of SetMe to determine and dictate in what way the third parties will store and handle your personal data. Requests to exercise your rights in regards to personal data processing should be sent directly to the respected third parties.
16. THE USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA SITES
Our website may include social network sharing widgets that may provide information to their associated social networks or third-parties about your interactions with our web pages that you visit, even if you do not click on or otherwise interact with the plug-in or widget. Information is transmitted from your browser and may include an identifier assigned by the social network or third party, information about your browser type, operating system, device type, IP address, and the URL of the web page where widget appears. If you use social network tools or visit social networking sites, you should read their privacy disclosures, to learn what information they collect, use, and share.
